I asked a couple of months ago, on this forum, about whether or not the Ministry of Education will accept just a letter stating that I have graduated from my university and out of like 5 responses all of the people said no.
However, I asked Korean embassy in Canada and they said it should be o.k.
So, I took a risk and I applied for a job anyways, and the Ministry of Education accepted it! Not only that, when I asked them if they wanted to see my degree when it arrives (I had to order a new one) and they said that they don't even need to see it. A LETTER IS ENOUGH FOR THE MINISTRY.
So HA! Thanks for the pessimistic answers guys. Good thing I listened to my guts than people here because it really doesn't make sense why they would not accept a letter, which I think it is more legitimate than a degree.
You can always hire a corrupt lawyer to apostille a fake degree but you can't fake a letter, which has the actual university contact number that will vouch for you, personally. |

Get back to us when you try to pass that off at Immigration in Korea to get your ARC. It's not pessimism, friend, but merely a recitation of the facts as provided by the Korean government offices concerned in Korea. |

... I'm currently working in KOREA and both Ministry of Education and Ministry of Immigration has passed me with my letter of graduation.
I've been working for a month already (legally) and have been reported and passed by the government.
So... I don't know what you are talking about.
And get your facts straight before you start giving people wrong advices. |

hahaha what a loser can't admit that you are wrong.
I'm not trolling I made this post so that people understand that some people on this forum are giving out wrong information and possibly hindering people from working.
Here's the fact regarding letter of graduation:
MINISTRY OF EDUCATION AND MINISTRY OF IMMIGRATION WILL ACCEPT A LETTER OF GRADUATION FROM YOUR UNIVERSITY. IT DOES NOT HAVE TO BE THE ACTUAL DEGREE.
So if you have lost your degree and wondering if you have to wait until your degree comes (mine is taking 2 months for it to deliver). Then, no! Just ask for a simple graduation letter, get that apostilled and signed by the nearest Korean consulate. That is enough. |

A letter of graduation framed at the foyer of school: don't think it'll impress a lot of people.
You'll still have to apostle your degree.
and ethan style: that's no way to thank the people who tried to help you. |

A letter of graduation also worked for me. I am currently in my 8th month in Korea and I have never had to show immigration my actual degree. My recruiter told me it all comes down to who looks at my documents in the immigration office so it can go either way. Anyway, you can definitely get by with just the letter! |

I'm glad it worked out for you. when I first came here 3/4 years aog the changed the rules from just a letter to the actual degree. My docs were rejected because I didnt have the actual degree scroll at the time. These days its an notarised and apostilled copy.
You can forgive people who would have said the letter wouldn't work. |
