Yes, after 5 years of hardy use, I have to sell my motorbike. Gonna miss the old lasy, but I was wondering what 'papers' I need in order to sell her. I was probably just going to take it to a local bike shop. I have the paper describing what year it was made, ccs, and other stuff, but do I need an extra form (from some Govt office) for to complete the transfer?

Also, the bike was bought (and registered) in Busan, but I currently live in Gyeongsamnamdo. I've a feeling that I had to contact some govt office, but didn't Shocked

Also, what do I do regarding the insurance? I have a month left on it so no worries there, buut do I have to provide them with proof that I've sold the bike and that I'm not riding it without insurance? (I heard some old tale about someone getting fined for not renewing thir insurance).

You would only need a ownership paper issued by the gov't (city hall motor vehicle department). I went to the city hall with the seller with the said paper to get it transferred to my name. I don't recall any other paper involved other than paying tax or transfer fee.

The title should be all that you need. You probably don't even have to be there in person. A copy of your i.d. and title is all the buyer should need.

There is a time limit when you are supposed to register a vehicle when you move to a different location (gu, city, province, etc.), 30 days I think but I wouldn't worry about it unless THEY bring it up. But there is a fine, if you don't.

Talk to your insurance agent and he will let you know what you need to do. It's ALL on the government database and should know, "ah, new owner". But best to make sure! If I even fail to renew my insurance by even week, they know and immediately penalize me. From my experience, they don't care if you even HAVE a license, but insurance...they are all over that~~
