| You are simply just talking out of your arse now, chinatimes. It's no wonder you bounce all over the place from country to country and can't keep a job. |
If I stayed in one country that would mean I could keep a job? I am sorry, I am not versed in your logic. Please train me.
Were you born in Korea?
So maybe you couldn't keep a job in your native country?
Yea yea, touche and all that. |

^ This. He does the same on the China boards. |

| Actually YTMND has some valid points in his posts. Some are a bit overboard, but makes some valid points. |

| YTWND just likes arguing with everyone about nothing. Uncrossed "T"s and stuff it misconstrues. Wouldn't waste too much time on its insecure argumentativeness. Schwa offered the best advice. If you're concerned about accuracy (and insight) just ignore its chest puffing gibberish. |

| You remember the kid in class who had to cause trouble, annoy the teacher at every opportunity, often smelled weird, you avoided, occasionally came out with something original, though they were 'unique', 'special' or 'gifted'? |

I am trying to find merit in your guys' comments.
I stated we should talk with schools and not just trust the recruiter. I didn't realize that would snowball into accusations of my school past. Oh well |

There's an occasional nugget of useful information within a mountain of advice usually not related to the question at hand. It's like prospecting for gold. |

In this thread it has to do with talking with the school or not. I don't see a mountain other than people who refuse to take that extra step to talk with the school.
If you really want to put 100% in a recruiter, it's no skin off my back. Go ahead, but don't come complaining here that your apartment, school schedule, or contract terms are not what the recruiter "promised" you. |

When I was in Korea I met the PUBLIC SCHOOL (Yo wee yo). I visited the school, and I introduced them to my Korean girlfriend (at the time).
Enough said. Any questions? |
Yeah, why did you feel the need to take your Korean gf (at the time) with you to meet the PUBLIC SCHOOL? (Yo wee yo)...wth does that even mean? |

| I had my interview tonight over the phone, and the lady I talked to said I should hear back in a couple of days. If I do get the job, I'm kind of hesitant with taking it, because I'm not assured I won't be stuck out in the middle of nowhere. I don't mind being placed in a rural area, as long as there's a metropolitan area within 30 minutes to an hour nearby. I'm looking at other public school positions, and hopefully some more are opening up for December, so I'll have a few more options. |

The lady you spoke with should have told you where the school is.
If you didn't ask her, you should have.
Don't wait for them to tell you later, ask now. |

I did, and she said due to GEPIK or whatever, she didn't know where I would be placed, and that I would be placed after the orientation. |

Then you aren't talking to the school. Don't write off this as "whatever". Find a recruiter that will connect you with a school to speak with. I was able to talk and email with the head English teacher, as well as meet her and the principal before signing 3 copies of the contract for GEPIK.
The orientation was actually 3 weeks at least into the contract period. So, it seems strange that excuse was thrown out.
This process of assigning people schools after orientation needs to be replaced with a more sensible approach. If you go to any orientation before knowing where you will go, then you are supporting this.
It's not whatever, it's "whatever they can get away with". Don't let them. Talk with the school. |
