|
|
Hi all,
My wife's got some time at home where she's looking into any legit
work-at-home kinda stuff she can do on her laptop.
Any of us here have any tangible NON-scamming ways you can share with us?
Thanks for any help... I realize the door's also open for a plethora of troll-like activity.
Thanks anyways.

Hey,
You may want to try Amazon's Mechanical Turk. You're not going to be making any serious money off of it, but you can earn a nice little chunk of change doing various tasks for people, such as filling out surveys or transcribing speeches to text.
You have to register your tax information with Amazon, but it's something to look into. |

If she speaks multiple languages (English and another) she could look into advertising her translation skills, at a certain amount per page/per hundred words. Buy some ad space in university campus newspapers or grad student newsletters. |

Thanx for all the great responses. Are these options do-able on an Ipad?
She's hoping to drag it along while kids are playing outside or while they have study sessions.
Thanks again.

onehourtranslation can be an easy source of translation work, the rates/load can be really light though.
re:ipad, it depends on how much you like typing on those things. most of my suggestions were for web content writing work, lots of that around and pretty much anyone can do it. |

Teach English online. There are a number of companies looking for online teachers. Scour the job boards, some pay better than others. Also, find out where their students are located and look for ones with students in a suitable time zone. |

Has anyone remotely been succesful using Amazon's Mechanical Turk? I was looking at it and the pay per piece seems outrageous. You would lose money on wear and tear with your computer not to mention the cost of the internet.
Somebody may have to correct me on this but did I see $0.00 pay per piece on some of the tasks? This is not to mention you get payed pennies for other tasks that could take up to a minute looking up and would put some wear on the keyboard. Total rip off.
Textbroker seems a reasonable possibility for anyone with writing skills. |

is that an affiliate link bro? at least be upfront about that if it is.
people would be better off learning how to run websites and make cash instead of doing bottom tier jobs like commenting, building links, etc IMO |

P0stloop - Earn money posting at forums and blogs.
OP - your wife could earn money writing articles, there are a few websites that pay out for decent writing. She should start small, get a good rating and work up towards the higher-paying jobs after a few months. Bear in my she won't earn anything like a living wage doing this, unless she can work directly for the websites that request articles. You can't contact them directly by writing through the intermediaries, but if she builds a nice portfolio of pieces and starts writing for free, online magazines then she might have more luck.
Just my opinion, although I'm not an editor or experienced in journalism. |
