http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/college-allows-transgender-man-to-expose-himself-to-young-girls.html

[quote]A Washington college said their non-discrimination policy prevents them from stopping a transgender man from exposing himself to young girls inside a womens locker room, according to a group of concerned parents.

Clearly, allowing a person who is biologically a man to undress and expose himself to young girls places those girls at risk for emotional distress and harm, he wrote in a letter to the college. Any reasonable person would view this as dangerous to the young girls involved. The fact that this individual was sitting in plain view of young girls changing into their swimsuits puts you and Evergreen on notice of possible future harm.

HOLY SHIT MY DAUGHTER SAW A *beep*.

Seriously though, six years old seems a good time to start a conversation about gender, sexuality, maturity, and appropriate vs. inappropriate behavior. When kids start becoming aware of differences and discrimination.

Honestly, I don't see a problem with a woman (who happens to have a *beep*) walking around naked in the locker room. It's a good point for discussion. The USA is so puritan it's almost maddening - that simply *seeing* someone's genitals is cause for trauma or emotional distress shows how very problematic ideas of the body and gender have become.

Ah, I found the problem.

Women do not have dicks. Women have vaginas.

Yeah...he's a dude.

While the USA may be puritan in cases, letting a man use the women's facilities seems a bit odd.

People have a right to certain privacies. these women were made to feel uncomfortable. Not a big issue.

I'd be lying if I said I cared about this totally local, non-newsworthy issue, but none the less, the notion that six-year old children should be exposed to transsexual's penises to spur "discussion" is probably one of the most ridiculous things I have heard in my life.

He's not a woman though...he's a man who dresses in woman's clothes and lives as a woman.

Transgender is not the same as transsexual.

All I can say is that my mom tossed my sister and me into the bathtub together when we were little. I grew up knowing that boys and girls were different. No big deal...until I was about 11 or so. (No, we were not taking our nightly baths together until I was 11.)

This situation is special. I agree with TUM. This person is a transsexual, not a transgender (given the information we have).

In my opinion, the adult women in the locker room should have--if they were offended by the presence of an outwardly appearing male--picked him/her up and tossed him/her out in the hall without clothes. Social mores are social mores until they change.
