Red Dawn is a movie about North Korea invading the US.

I know it'll be cheesy, but having property in Washington and living in Seoul, it should be fun to watch. Anyone know if it'll play here?

I heard that the film was edited during post-production changing the enemy to North Koreans from Chinese.

I wonder if it'll have the scene from the original Red Dawn; when they find a dead redneck behind his truck w/sticker that reads "you can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead hand" - and he's laying there with his hand pried open and a loaded clip in the other.

No one can replace Patrick S.

I can't wait to see this movie, I loved the original one and once I heard they wee doing a remake I was excitied.

Also they filmed some of it in the city next to where I grew up so i'm curious how that is going to look on screen.

If they dont show it in theatres then I'll just go to Yongsan and pick up a bootleg copy. Either way i'm going to see it.

Wolverines!!!!

Red Dawn was a riveting documentary. Crazy to think how far the US has come in 30 years from being invaded to being the most powerful country on earth.

Interesting to see what the mindset in the movie is.

I know. It's a shame he's dead.

It's been years since I saw that movie. Does his character die in the movie? If not, it would have been awesome if that had his brother play his character grown up.

Wolverines!

PS. You dog looks awesome. I've already started planting the idea in my son's mind that we'll be getting an Australian Shepherd when we move back home.

I read the Australian shepherds are loyal to the point of being clingy, following you around as if they are afraid you'll run away and leave them. I kinda like the idea of having a dog like that.

My take:

I was dragged whining and complaining, to the first Red Dawn. "Why?, I asked. "Why should I sit through a right-wing conspiracy fantasy about a couple of podunk countries taking over the US? Isn't this just a fever dream?"

Yes, it was. I fell asleep during the movie while my temporary girlfriend got her panties in a twist about the browns coming up and taking over. (It was a very short-term relationship.)

I can see why today's white-people-in-a-racial-panic might want an up-date.

No one else, though.

On a another note; Best American Short Stories 2012 - bought it in paperback and in digital for the new Kindle PaperWhite...I love the kindle, but love having the series (thanks to you for introducing me to it) on my bookshelf. I've got 15 years so far, and I must say - you can go back and read them again after a year or two and the stories are even better the second or third time around.

I just love short stories.
