Hello former fellow ETs in Korea.

I recently developed an app for iphone that is kind of a user-powered translation app that lets travelers or language students post images of foreign language text so that other bilingual users can translate or explain it for them.

(Some early users post photos of their homework or long texts for translation. It's not really intended for that. I am hoping to get people to use it for quick explanations rather than long translations. For example "Hey, I got this notice on my door. What should I do?")

The idea is to have a huge user base around the world so that posts get speedy translations - by humans, not the garbled Google translations that we've all seen.

It's brand new and it's free so please try it and help us grow the number of users. Here's an explanation of the app as seen in iTunes app store:

and you can view our tutorial video @ http://youtu.be/u55_NzCoCSo

At TranslateMate, we set out to create the world's first people-powered translation app for your travel translation needs. Translate Mate allows you to post images of language you don't understand and have them translated or explained by multilingual users around the world. It's fun, easy to use and useful for travelers, expats, students or armchair linguists. Use it for..
