this is shameful. what did they boys do? were they embarrassed?

Fourtantly the incident happened in front of some of my better grade 2s (14 year olds) who went back to their game so I think I was more embarssed than they were. But if it happened amongst some of the students who call me 'sexy teacher' then this would just make classroom management a bit worse.

in your shoes, i'd like to say something about how those men might be able to tell the difference between a prostitute and a school teacher if only they weren't high on soju.

yes I think that would be great.

So today I was walking home and a few of my students (middle school boys) were out playing basketball and said hello to me. Over in the corner there were a couple of old guys out enjoying some soju who started screaming 'russian person come here! How much, how much?' while I was talking to my students.

Taken aback by the situation I screamed out 'don't talk to me that way' in korean to get a few nasty comments hurled back. I really don't want to be hurling insults across the small town I live in. Anyone got any better ways of handling these situations? Aiish.

what would you do back home?

ban mal hajima isn't quite correct... it is meant for adults to say to children to have them use joohn dat mal..

my korean isn't that advanced... i would just give them a serve of 1st grade napoon mal...

but my chick is here and she has given me a few options for you to use next time...

1) ker raniga hankook nam ja de ri yo gul mong nen kah yay yo
1a) thats why korean people get sworn at

2) tung shin dal pal mian
2a) if you sell your daughter (you can have me)

3) noh han ten noh moo b sal gul ie joong gook nom ah
3a) too expensive for you chinese basstard

while these are a little rude (not really napoon mal)... they will actually get the people thinking about what they said and it should shut them right up..

there is intonation that goes with these of course but they are what my gal said that would shut them up right quick...

Rrrrrr Crazylemongirl, I am so sorry to hear that. Just ignore them. They are a bunch of drunks and low lifes. I am often called, 'Yang gal bo', when I am with a foreign-looking friend or friends. It means 'a prostitute who serves westerners".

phuckers...

Say this:

  ʹ ۾Ƽ Ҽ !!
Ni jaji nun neomoo jaga seo na lang sek (nevermind....romanisation is too hard).

Translated, roughly:

You're d*ck is too small for me to f*ck!

Ok, may not be the path you want, but it's crass/crude and of low status language (na choom mal).

Shoosh,

Ryst
