I set the bombs off right away because it adds to your combo points. Others like to not use them at all. I quit playing the game for the most part, but my highest score--without help from others, like most of these manufactured scores seems to suggest--was about 106,000. I think all of these Koreans are so good at this game because they never smoked pot before which slows down reaction time.

The only way you get a high score is via combos. I try to get a good combo going, at least 5 and at that point, if I don't see my next move immediately, I use a bomb to give me some time to scan the screen and it also continues your combo.

My wife played it religiously when it first came out but not so much anymore. All I would hear was her phone receiving messages for "free hearts." She always has 100 free hearts in her inbox at all times.

Her all time hi-score was over 600,000 but no idea what it is now. I watched her play a few times and she uses the bombs when she is in the "combo time." You lose the combo after a second or two of not matching. So if she can't see a match right away, she uses a bomb to give her a little more time to find one. Her usual combo is over 20 and this gives you massive points.

I tried a few times on her phone and was up to 250,000 points once or twice. Her level is over 35 though so she receives a huge bonus after the game.

That must explain why I suck balls at that game. My high score was 36,000 Laughing

I find it's better to play on a I-pad or some other tablet because it's bigger and easier to spot patterns.
Also, it always seems like there's at least one match to be made. It's only been a couple times when they didn't give me any hint out of lack of options. If there's nothing to match down below, seems like it will give you a least one match option appearing up top. Of course, by the time this happens your scores' gonna suck anyways, so why even bother.
Thanks for the info about combos and bombs. Didn't quite see the connect there.
Playing with a partner drastically increases "your" score, and my Korean students tell me there's some way to freeze your screen (like when my I-phone tells me my battery's down to 20/10%) to look for patterns without the clock countdown.
Regardless, Anipang is gonna be the death of me one way or the other.

OR could it be that many are glued to their phones 24/7 and play these types of games constantly and have done so from an early age?

My score is way better than my girlfriend's anyway, and the only time I play it is when I'm ON the pot (the toilet!). Bad idea though as suddenly 20 minutes go by and your feet go numb from sitting there too long. Then you go back to the office walking like an 80 year old.

(Oops! Too much info...) Very Happy

The best strategy is to not even play the darn thing in the first place.

I get over 70,000 consistently. I feel like theres an optimal time to use the little ghost thing and when the animals have big eyes that I'm just not getting. One really good item is the pig with the magnifying glass, instantly shows you patterns. Some of my friends are +300k I really don't get that.

I heard this game is connected to Kakaotalk somehow, but I don't understand the connection. Do you play others simultaneously on Kakaotalk, like multiplayer? What is the Kakaotalk connection?

I'm pretty sure that game is just a government experiment to see how many mindless drones will follow the lead of the pack and play an incredibly boring bejeweled rip-off with an addictive point leveling system, like some kind of twisted social experiment. /tinfoil hat

As usual with trends here, it lasted 2 weeks of my inbox getting blasted with invites from people I barely remember meeting, and then it was gone after everyone realized how stupid it was.

The game sucks and just goes to show that 99% of Koreans will go ape-doodoo over anything bland and boring if everyone else does it.

You can only play the game so many times until you run out of "hearts" which are a kind of currency. You can send and receive hearts from friends to keep playing, or wait for a set amount of time until your hearts are automatically replenished.

Also, your scores are posted and ranked against your Kakao friends, which really plays off of people's competitive nature. Scores are only posted for a certain amount of time, maybe a week before it's all reset so you can try and take down friends again. Pretty smart design.

I have a friend who scored 1,900,000 points in this game...pretty unreal. She's also smoking hot. Laughing

I'm more of a Candy Pang guy myself, though. And Dragon Flight can be pretty fun, though playing in a taxi almost made me hurl the other night.

I just can't get into it. I just play Bejeweled 2. I like being able to play for a while.

When I play dragonflight for more than maybe 10 minutes and don't look away from the screen I look up and stuff starts moving around like i'm on psychedelics kind of. Does this happen to other people?

Yeah, it has happened to me. Used to happen when I played Guitar Hero or Rock Band as well. The visual effects are kind of like that website where you stare at the dot in the middle of the spiral for 30 seconds, then look at your hand...kind of wavy, bubbly stuff going on. Groooooooooooovy. Cool
