Yeah sorry but I don't have to go through the history of the forum to do that. Anytime a foreigner posts something about a bad experience they had here, someone comes along and blames them for it or tells them the same thing happens in their country. The implication is there, most people that come here see it for what it is. Sorry the cameraphone was invented and some people are having to face reality. Sorry about that.

I'm still unable to understand the point of this thread, too wishy washy.

A) You want Korea to become a violent place so you feel better about your homeland which is a violent place?
B) You think Korea is a violent place now and that everyone is in denial and saying it is not a violent place?
C) Some other options I'm not thinking of at the moment...

D) This is a Korea general discussion forum. Right now there are a lot of viral videos that circulate concerning people doing something out of the norm on a subway. Maybe girls painting their toes, women smoking, a naked girl blocking a door, or a woman beating a man with a head of lettuce. We live in Korea so we are discussing this. Sorry, but I am not a yankee spy sent here to soil the good name of Korea, I'm just discussing because I'm bored.

WHAT? I need to hang out on the subways where this is happening! Smile

While I subway every day I can't say I've seen anything eventful happen, (the way a subway ride should be). Koreans just ride it to get where they are going, get off, go do their thing, no drama, no conversation with strangers.

Now in the states a few times a week there would be confrontation; a drunk, bums, people messing with people, harrassing chicks, drugs, threats of violence to the driver, etc.

I think in Seoul it depends on the line you are riding and what time you are on it. I've never seen the groping or congestion some people talk about. But I've seen quite a few fights. I think it was because of the area I used to live in. The city does a great job with the subway and it's way more safe than any subway system in the USA. I just get tired of people treating any foreigner that gets in a difficult situation here as if they have no right to complain because worse things happen in the states or their home country.

Why do you guys always compare Korea to the shit-hole that is Amurica. Why not compare it to somewhere decent? It's like comparing two turds and being happy that one of them smells less bad. In the end they're both shit.

I'd like to get into the "difficult situation" involving the naked girl + subway. Cool

The worst are the people with $800 umbrellas. Of course, those type of folks wouldn't even think of stepping foot on the subway.

Of course, they only take black taxis when their chauffeur isn't available.

@dairyairy, I'm curious... what's the purpose of posting this garbage on dave's esl board?
Are you a man on a mission, letting the world know that the koreans are violent and the country is not a safe place to live and raise a family?
Or are you just another troll, getting a kick out of it?

It's big news in Korea and it should be posted so that you, and others, can keep up-to-date on current events. Information is power, dude.

I post to educate and inform. Wake up to reality, people. The more you know the better you are at making decisions.

Noticed that my previous post was deleted probably because I used a s-word.

Anyways people already know that shit happens in Korea. People also know that sickos always look for something sick to please themselves and easily find freaky things on youtube these days. Someday these sick idiots will perform their own freak shows in public.

Educate and inform? Oh man, you need medical attention.

You don't like what I post yet you keep reading my posts? You remind me of those who complain about reality TV, like Honey Boo Boo, yet you keep watching it. Laughing What's up with that, Mr. Potty Mouth?

This thread is about subway safety, which has become a big issue in the korean news. What great issues of the day would you like to discuss?

Dont be kidding.. this thread has nothing to do with subway safety in Korea. No one's gonna get killed by one crazy old woman.

Well, I don't want to get into an argument on this board but I suggest you try to uphold the reputation of Americans (if you are). OK then, seek more garbage freak shows for future endeavors.

well these subway stories made the news in Korea, so you are saying Korean people are sickos because this is the kind of stuff that they show on the news in Korea? If so then I resent that, I am not Korean, but I definitely don't think Korean people are sickos. It seems to be a topic a lot of Korean people are interested in so the news puts it up for ratings, so naturally as foreigners we are discussing it too.

News reporters, especially internet news reporters like 김우람who wrote the online article for 머니투데이, will read anything and everything, including this subway freak show, that they can to see if they can find an article in it. Needless to say they play around with topics and subjects in order to grab more attention but thats what they do for a living. The problem is that sickos (like the op and yourself) sensationalize those freak events on the internet and spread the stories with sick implications. Don't forget to take your meds in the morning and find something worth discussing.
