So one recruiter has told me I'm going to have to get an FBI check because I lived in the States while I went to University, even though I'm Canadian. I've never had to do this in the past two visa applications, nor have I ever heard of someone else having to do this. Is this recruiter crazy, or have the laws changed?

Nonsense, the criminal background check has to match your passport. If you are on a Canadian passport then its a Canadian CBC they need. You could have left Canada at age two but if you are travelling on a Canadian passport that's where they want the CBC to be from.

Logic is not a huge thing here.

Oh, I know that logic is a difficult concept in Korea... lol. Still willing to return. Oh well. Just wanted to double check. Thanks!

You could be safe and get both just in case. Besides what if you decide you want to teach in another country, then you have it.
