|
|
I feel like the topic of Iphone plans and various other questions have been killed on here, but I am hoping if someone can answer a few simple questions for me. Iphone 4 has been going pretty cheap in America lately, and I was thinking about getting one sent to me in my Xmas package from home. So, here are my questions:
1) Will there be any problems with customs if it's mailed as used personal goods?
2) If it's not country unlocked/carrier unlocked, can I get that done here?
3) I currently have a basic phone plan with KT, could I just put my SIM card in and begin using? Or do I have to do some sort of activation?
4) Can I keep a basic phone plan? I do a post paid plan where I pay for what I use, currently around 20K a month. I don't want a smart phone plan.
Thanks |

If you don't want a smart phone plan, then I would suggest not getting a smart phone. Smartphones use a lot of data and you are going to want to download apps and what not. If you are thinking, well I'll just use wifi, then it would be a ton cheaper to just buy an ipod touch especially if you aren't wanting a smart phone plan. I have a friend who bought an ipod touch and he uses it just fine here along with his regular flip phone. |

Thanks for the reply..That's actually what I do now. I'm just kind of tired of carrying around both devices. I figured I could sell my ipod and then the iphone would be relatively cheap. I would turn data off and just use wifi. |

Oh ok, yeah I see how that would get tiresome. I had an iphone here and my plan for unlimited data was around 70k won per month and I didn't have to pay for the phone up front either. I just paid for the phone monthly. Now I have a Galaxy s III doing the same thing. |

Yeh I don't really want an expensive plan. Data is nice because Wifi isn't always around, and having to turn wifi on and off is annoying, but it's worth saving around 30 a month to me.
I can get an Iphone 4 from America for about 200, so that with about 30 for the basic plan + wifi is what I want. I actually got some of the answers I was looking for through KT's twitter.
From what he said:
You can use an unlocked Iphone 4 from the states as long as it is not wireless and you are allowed a basic plan with it. |
