The funny thing is salaries never tend to rise as quickly as cost of living does...odd isn't it?
For example, gas prices have risen by more than 30% where we live in the past few years...my salary sure has not...hm |

| Eating out prices seem the same in Seoul thru 2012, the standard 6000 each for a table full of awesomeness. Grocery store kills your wallet of course. Major ouch. |

Maybe because alcohol consumption is so rampant that merchants are able to compensate for lower profits on food with volume profits on alcohol.
You teetotalers should remember this. If it wasn't for us your fried chicken and samgyupsal would cost 1.5X as much.

Being a smart shopper gives you so many advantages.
Perhaps, because of the rising strength of the Korean won, this is a good time to tighten spending here and send as much back as you can. Shifting even 50,000-100,000 in your monthly budget from here to there could make a difference for you later. |
