Fewer newbs. Honestly there's nothing more annoying than talking to a Westerner whose just been here a few months. I want to tear my ears off and bury them in concrete. I guess I was just as annoying to long-timers when I first got here.

Along that line, I'm sick of the white people who kiss my Korean ass every chance they get. You always get one these people who have to constantly remind me how awesome they think Korea is. Ok, you like kimchi, good for you. It doesn't seem genuine, it just makes you seem desperate for acceptance.

I just saw anal and medication and thought lube.

Laughing

I've seen this too and I've probably did it on occasion myself when I first arrived in Seoul.

IDK, but when you're an extreme minority in a nation of 48 million you sometimes want to represent yourself and fellow minority in a positive light.

However, it can also make you look like a total pansy and come across as extremely fake.

Nevertheless, these people are much better than the foreigners who constantly bitch and moan about Korea. There constant negativity drives me up the wall.

Basically don't go overboard on the negative aspects of Korea, but also don't make it out like you're sucking up to Korea either.

Consideration for others, general friendliness.

The cost of things being relative to their true value.

Free shipping--I'm talking about Amazon.com, Zappos, LL Bean, Vitacost (far superior to iherb) and many more.

TV shows that haven't already aired their second season before they hit Korean airwaves billed an "new," and the three months of promos you have to endure before they finally begin.

I guess some people forgot my recommendation in my original post, as in NOTHING ABSTRACT. Rolling Eyes

Is this the Lost and Found thread? Have you seen my youthful idealism?

postcards

Besides Jeju island, I have yet to see any postcards anywhere. At least the airport should have some , right ? Nope

bagels & bagel sandwiches

I was excited to have a bacon, egg & cheese 'bagel' sandwich in Mokpo recently ... until I discovered the whole thing smothered in honey... (sigh)

I've seen postcards at the National Museum of Korea and The War Memorial gift shops.

Better scene for EDM (electronica dance music).

Yeah there was Global Gathering and UMF, but there's a serious lack of real international DJs who come to Korea. Ellui is pretty much the only club that gets any international DJs. They had Sebestien Leger a few weeks ago, and they're getting Cosmic Gate next week but there's been no one special otherwise. I dunno the last time Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, Steve Lawler, Dubfire to name a few have been here. I don't know what's up Koreans here. Either they're out of tune with the scene, don't try to force the promoters to bring in bigger DJS, or both.

Also, there's way too much cheesy electro house being played by the locals. I barely hear any tech house or trance.

-I agree with the drugs too, esp. weed.

-More variety of cheeses

-More variety of bagels

-More variety of chicken wings

-STRIP CLUBS dammit. I just like watching a show and don't feel like going all out on Hooker Hill or buying over $300 bucks of booze in some underground bar before they bring the girls out for "chatting"

You guys are freaking teachers. Now you know why I bash ESL teachers, they're losers. Go back to your dead end career choice in your home country and do drugs. You filth, grow up!

It's funny how you label me as having a dead end career in my home country when I actually had a job working for a major bank back home. You shouldn't be so quick to cast assumptions.

Anyway, about the bagel sandwiches, I think you can get them at Joe's Sandwich.

And I disagree about not putting English on products and services. If anything, there should be more it and it should be done CORRECTLY as there's so much Konglish everywhere I look whenver there is English written down. Like English is so importent here that the people here don't even take it seriously by putting so much nonsense Konglish on everything, especially since all these high school kids are commiting suicide over their tests. No wonder English is so frustrating to these kids. We teach it one way, and then they see the improper use of it on food packages and other places. Hell, I've even seen a children's book made in Korea of a popular children's tale filled with gross grammer errors. It's totally ridiculous. Them taking education seriously here is a joke, when all these Korean companies put Konglish everywhere, further confusing people. They don't even get the translation proof read anywhere when they could easily do so. It's really sloppy and disrespectful to all the kids killing themselves here.
