If I only wanted to work 10-15 hours a week, are there hagwon gigs out there for that?

IF you are on an F-visa then yes.

If you need E2 sponsorship then probably not.

Thanks Ttompatz. I'll be a D-2 visa holder. Where does that place me in the hierarchy of part-time job seekers?

I do believe there are limitations on what work you can do on a studen visa (D2) and on how much you can earn.

Your best bet: check with immigration directly.

D2 Visa holders go only legally work after 1 term of studies (about 4 months). Then they can only work a maximum of 20hrs per week during term time.

Depending on your location there are PT jobs available, but many schools will only hire you if you've got a degree, TEFL etc (same as E2 holders really) and of course as long as you're a native speaker.

However as a D2 visa holder you don't have to limit yourself to teaching and could do something else, your university should be able to help you with that sort of thing.

Good luck

I know someone who is willing to sponsor a full-time E2 visa for a part time job. Send me a PM if you're interested.
