I'm studying with Sogang online these days and with the text book from Seoul National University. I use 2 sources at once because I find it helps to clarify thing better and some texts leave some things out. There is some overlap but not as much as what some may think.

In case anyone is interested, here is the link for Sogang online.

http://korean.sogang.ac.kr/

It seems great and it's free.

Has anyone ever tried using Sogang online?

I also meet a few times a week with a Korean study partner for questions and conversation practice.

I recommend Sogang online but I wonder if anyone else has some feedback about it/how it compares to other ways to learn?

From my experience, CLASSES are not needed so long as one is self motivating and has a study partner.

Thanks!!!

I meet occasionally with study partners. I've finished book 3 from Seoul National University, I'm at around 2A with Sogang. I felt that it was hard to feel motivated in Korean without taking classes for most foreigners I know. With other languages, I'm much better at self-study. Have you used talktomeinkorean.com? I like that website. It's useful.

Yes I agree - TTMIK is very helpful.
My tips:

Anki AJATT method
Goldlisting
Live with a Korean
Talk a lot
Always have the radio on
L/R with TTMIK IYAGI
HIGH KICK or similar simple sitcom

Good luck!
