Last year I entered Korea with an E2 and had to leave before getting my ARC. I'm an American with a multi-entry visa that expires Jan 29th. I have all my documents but I'm wondering when I should start contacting recruiters. I want to be in Korea as soon as possible but I'm worried I'll be denied a visa if the documents are received too close to the current visa's expiration date. Also, should I even bother explaining to recruiters about previously having a visa but leaving before even teaching?

Personally I would say yes, because immigration has a record of all of your previous entries into and out of Korea, therefore as long as you left amicably (no midnight run) it should be OK.
If you don't maybe nothing will happen, however if immigration inform your new school about your old school you may not get hired.

So it depends a little way and/or how you left previously.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if immigration would have a reason to mention it to a new school. I had a family emergency and I paid the school back their flight money. I wouldn't feel comfortable giving them as a reference so I was hoping I could try not mentioning it to a new school (unless of course they asked).

Provided your previous visa has expired then there is no issue.

New start and new documents.
