The current unemployment rate is 3.9 percent for those with a bachelor's degree or higher, compared to 6.9 percent for those with an associate's or some college, and 8 percent for those with just high school.

The big question is why are there so many young grads here compared to 4 years ago?

Increased awareness of Korea, and ESL in general. Only a tiny percentage of Americans know about teaching English overseas but (thanks to Facebook, simonandmartina, etc.) the number is increasing every year. Expect wages and conditions to further stagnate and decline, irregardless of the state of the U.S. economy.

E-2s:
1999 - 5,009
2000 - 6,414
2001 - 8,388
2002 - 10,864
2003 - 11,344
2004 - 11,296
2005 - 12,439
2006 - 15,001
2007 - 17,721
2008 - 19,771
2009 - 22,642
2010 - 23,317

Funny that you mentioned Simon and Martina. I suspect they have no clue what disasterous consequence they've inflicted on the ESL market in Korea lol.

Well there are other people from other nationalities where the employment rate is not as good for graduates or otherwise. Could that not add to the number of new teachers?
