How cold is it in my school?
It is so cold that even with the heaters on I can still see my breath in the school halls...and the outside doors are closed.
How cold is it in my school?
It is so cold that when I take a wiz break in the washrooms, that I was wizzing solid ice in the toilet. The pipes are frozen as are the toilets.
How cold is it in my school?
It is so cold that I have to run outdoors now at 10AM to warm up.
How cold is it in my school?
It is so cold that the heaters aren't 100% effective. |

Welcome to my world.
There is only a central big heater that heats up part of the space in classroom and the teachers lounge.
There is no hot running water; none in the washrooms, kitchen, cafeteria, nor teacher's lounge. The cold water is nasty. |

The hallways aren't heated at mine, but literally every single room EXCEPT mine has heating. It's ridiculous. How is my classroom the only one that doesn't have heat. Even my CT's classroom has central heat and it's right next to mine. They gave me a dinky space heater, but it doesn't do much. Thankfully, I work at an after school program, and my vacation work schedule is 9-12 with only two of those teaching. Easy month, so I can deal with it. |

Wow, bad working conditions for sure. How does the school expect you and the children to stay warm. Maybe it's suppose to overshadow complaining that English is boring.
A space heater? I can see it now...Yeah....c'mon kids let's huddle up to the space heater and try to stay warm...not to close now.
They may work if you sit right in front of it...that's all. |

Way out in the country. It's nice in the spring and fall.
It's nasty in the winter. |

When it's cold in school I abuse the mix coffee, and when I'm done teaching I'll often put gloves on. I don't take off any layers when I get to school except my scarf. Saying that, I'm on the south coast- it must be tough for the rest of you guys |

I would have gladly toughed it out, but my boss put a big heater and a space heater in my classroom in addition to the one mounted on the wall. She rocks. |

Two more months and it will be largely over. Just be patient and wear warm clothing. If there really is no heating whatsoever in your room then you'll have to bring in a ceramic heater; or make the school office your office which is what I did when the heat was not turned on. |
