My 12 month contract is up next month at an academy I work here in Korea. My university diploma is in the possession of a relative in the United States so that the apostille process may be done faster.

Presently, I am finding ads looking for instructors now and they are jobs I qualify for. Would new potential employers I interview with want me to have all of my apostille degree and transcripts, cbc, and health check ready when they hire me, or could they hire me now and then wait for all the apostille degree and transcripts, cbc, and health check to be completed?

Again, my university diploma is back in the states presently and it's a physical document I can't show presently to any potential new employers here in Korea.

Do I need all this completed beforehand and have everything in my possession to be able to be hired on the spot?

Your options are:

i) Transfer your visa to your new employer at the end of your contract.
New documents are not needed.

ii) get a D10 at the end of your contract and transfer back to an E2 when you get work. New documents are not needed.

iii) finish your contract. Leave Korea. Hand in your ARC. Return as a tourist. Find new work. Start the application process for a new visa. New documents are needed.

To transfer to a new job you need:
ARC, passport, new contract, application, fees, new employer's guarantee (sponsorship form), new employer's business registration (copy).

To change to a D10 you need:
ARC, passport, plan to find work, application, fees.

To get a new visa you need:
passport
degree copy with apostille
CBC with apostille
contract
new employer's business registration
new employer's guarantee
application for Visa Confirmation Number
visa run to Japan requiring:
airfare, train fare, photos, application for visa, fees, expenses for an overnight stay.

Thank you, ttompatz:

I am an F-4 visa holder and I am actually working as a part-time freelancer with a lot of hours at my current place of employment.

To make a long story short, the school is closing down and I have decided now to transition being a full-timer working in hagwons.

I have never had to have my degree apostilled or had to conduct a cbc, etc. until now (due to the new regulations.).

So, what are my options as an F-4 visa holder ordering all of these docs for the first time?

If they are already on file with the local MOE then just find a new job.
If they are not on file then you need to get a set.
If you change jurisdictions you will probably need a new set again.

The "how to get them" will vary with your home jurisdiction but essentially you need to get a set of prints taken, send them off to the FBI and wait for them to be returned. You will then need to send them to the secretary of state for the US and get an apostille on them.
Your degree: you need to get a "certified true copy" made at a notary in the states then sent off to that particular States' Sec.of.State for an apostille.

There are lots of threads on the specifics for different places. You'll need to spend a while looking for yours.
