Hi, I am sorry that I'm making a thread although there is a sticky somewhat related to therapists. Thank you for those who might help.
Does anyone know of any English-speaking, preferably US-qualified, psychologists or therapists that specialized in OCD in Seoul? If anyone has any information at all of psychologists or even psychiatrists that is of affordable price (even if it is not, i would love the info), I would super appreciate it. If anyone could offer any info, PM or posting it on here would be great. Thank you everyone.

Everything Harpeau knows is already in that sticky. He's the one who started it, updates it, and advertises on it!
For the OP, if it a an emergency, you may be able to get help through Yonsei Severance or SNU's hospital foreign clinic or emergency rooms. Even the Itaewon clinic would be better than nothing, and those places should then provide referrals. Licensed doctors and certified specialists are listed in the sticky. |

| I'm not sure the guy in Itaewon is better than nothing, actually. Itaewon International Clinic? That guy is widely regarded as a quack- search the forum for more info on this- more interested is passing out pills for outrageous fees than fixing the actual problem. Use at your own risk, especially for something non-STD related. |

I saw Harpeau's list and I called a few of them that dealt with ocd issues, but all of them did not pick up their phone. Also, I called a few Korean college hospitals to see if they offered any help in English, but it was very expensive even with the Korean national insurance plan. The places that I've called were charging at least 150 an hour. I also called the Itaewon Clinic and the receptionist was a bit rude when I spoke in English because she couldn't understand me.
I am sorry for the bother, but if anyone can help, that'd be great. Thank you for helping.

| If you or a friend need the help, pay the money in the short term, and keep trying those docs on the list. And who cares about the receptionist? She won't be the one treating you, and that would be very short term, anyway. |

| Just an FYI -- outside of Harpeau, you're looking at spending well over 100,000 per hour for help. Not cheap here, and not covered by ins. |

...and there's a reason for that.
OP, if you are married to a Korean, you can receive free assistance and medication through certain hospitals. Have your better half look up 'tamoonwha' programs (sorry for the spelling in English there...yikes!).
I mentioned on another thread that I researched a bunch of services and obstacles for international couples and their children as part of a committee that I serve on. This was one of the things I found out. |

Hi, I too have always struggled with OCD. If you have access to the internet and can afford the price (from $80 USD per hour), you can do online therapy with Dr Stephen Phillipson's Clinic from New York. His website is ocdonline.com
I have tried many therapist and can say that they are the best in the business. |
