Hi all.

I am overwhelmed with all the opportunities out there for ESL in Korea. I do have TEFL and want to be close to Seoul.
I have two friends that did the GEPIK program and had a good experience.
I initially was thinking about EPIK but didn't like the fact that I could end up in the middle of nowhere and wouldn't know until the end of orientation.
Does anyone have experience with Korvia or GEPIK?
Just looking for some guidance Smile

Thanks!

I am about to finish up a GEPIK contract that I got through Korvia. Funding cuts to GEPIK have made it more likely that you'll end up farther from Seoul than you would have otherwise, since people with more experience will (presumably) get jobs in places like Anyang, Seongnam or Bucheon. However, based on what you're looking for, it's still better than being in a rural area.

Public school jobs are, more or less, interchangeable in that the differences largely come down to differences between individual schools, which you can't control. While you can choose a school with GEPIK, you probably won't know what it's like until you actually work there.
