I'm currently in Korea and thinking of staying another 6 months. I haven't contacted any recruiters asking about options. I should have a letter of release.

Anybody have any experience with shorter contracts?

For the most part, you'll just want to sign a year contract and leave after six months. It is all but impossible to find anywhere offering six month contracts unless you stay with the same hakwon. Public schools are generally out of the question because the hiring goes through EPIK/SMOE..etc.
