This will hurt Burger King locally, too. Maybe also Homeplus.

Better stock up on foreign meat today... the Korean gov't has a history of using this type of thing to local advantage. Prices will rise. Foreign meat will be demonized.

Unless the beef was American or Australian, I expect it to have zero impact.
It's already been on the news here and no one cares.

I can only imagine how this gets spun around. Hanwoo is no. 1 and pay the price for that; foreign beef is dirty crazy cow/horse meat. I do agree with alongwayfromcanuckistan in that if it isn't American beef in question, then no one cares for the most part.

does is sadden anyone else that the taste of these "burgers" is so artificial that consumers couldn't taste that they were indeed eating horse instead of um, cows?

I've had horse meat a few times in Europe and I'm not sure I could have told it apart from cow

I thought UK beef was still on the embargo/banned list due to BSE.

It will have no impact in Korea.

Had it been Aussie or Kiwi beef then maybe.

Had it been American beef then there would have been a tremendous backlash.
