Well according to the date at the link I was lead to believe it was more recent.

What made you believe that? In the story itself is the date and time of publication: Apr. 29, 2009 08:19 KST

I have then checked the IP address and see a 2009 year. BUT with that oversight noted, the fact that the US army troops have been told to behave still makes this incident worse. It tells us that the soldiers will not listen when it counts.

They were told almost four years ago, kinship. Those involved in the alleged incident were not in Korea then and those who were in Korea then have moved on.

For the soldiers sake, I hope the part about touching her breasts was either embellished or at the very least, not caught on camera.

That's true. Maybe what we are reading is not what actually happened.

We'll see when all of the facts come out. Obviously something happened on the subway Saturday night. But was it just rude and inconsiderate behavior or was it something bigger that was illegal? That's the question we're waiting to see answered. But don't trust the Korean media to tell the truth.

Losers. Just slap a 6 o'clock curfew on ALL military personnel everyday. It would make Itaewon more enjoyable, I'm sure.

Not all soldiers spend their time off post drinking in Itaewon. Many have families off post, go to church, and volunteer time for charities. That kind of activity doesn't make the news.

Did you read what I wrote? I didn't look at the IP and saw only 1 date. Also, sometimes people just miss something and I am sure you have done that.

Do you think that people are told only once? Maybe there was an official meeting four years ago but commanding officers do remind soldiers from time to time.

When I was in, our unit told us at the last formation every week to stay out of trouble. And guess what? People still got in trouble.

I wanted more info about this, so I held a seance with the late MCJC, who as we all know died heroically in Afghanistan at Camp Freedom.

According to the ghost of MCJC, the generals are not pleased, especially with the artwork:

Of course the soldiers should be punished but a lot worse things have happened on the subway. Try to keep things in perspective:

"Eight people were injured in a knife rampage at a subway station near Seoul on Saturday."

Really?

That is what you surmise from this report?

Please, take a minute, think, and state again what this incident, based on what we know as fact really tells you about the soldiers of the United States Army.

I have a strong suspicion that woman in question, Jeon, is a PS English teacher.

I doubt normal Korean women would pick an argument with mob of "trained killers."

She is 20. I would guess that she is a university student that probably studied or lived overseas and actually understood some of the comments directed at her.

Depends on who's giving the age and for what purpose. For legal matters such as stating one's age to the courts, purchasing cigarettes, or purchasing alcohol, then the age stated is the so-called Western age. For other things, it's the so-called Korean age.
