Go to Namdaemun and grab a tourist map from the tourist center or one of the wandering guides. The military alley is outdoors between two buildings and is marked on the maps. They sell all the stuff OP is looking for. Never did see NV equipment there though. It's all relatively cheap stuff; most looking like they are straight from Chinese sweatshops. Some vendors hide the MREs underneath their carts, so you have to ask. |

There's a place in Itawon - same side as McDonald's, up towards Hamilton direction about 100 yrds, down at the end of a little lane on your right. A bit pricey though. Have you checked online? I used to play on a Korean airsoft team and you can order everything online pretty cheap. |

btw, do you know something we don't know? if civilization is about to collapse, please send PM. |
Whenever I go to Namdaemun on Sunday's the military people are not there. Some guys selling watches or a compass but not the goods.
I will try and go there during the week when I get a chance.
What online site do you recommend?
No TEOTWAWKI or WROL situation...I joined a hiking club and I don't want hot pink or neon green hiking gear. Cheers. |

We asked the Namdaemun info booth people where the military stuff was a couple of months ago. They said they're all closed down. They might be trying to draw attention away from it, and / or that stuff is on the DL and available somewhere, but there didn't seem to be any shops or stalls with any military gear - clothing or equipment, legit, fake, contraband or otherwise - out in the open. |

In 2009 or so I wandered into the Seoul Flea Market at Sinseol-dong station (line 1), and they had a lot of US military stuff; clothes, tools, MREs, etc. on the second floor. |

Very interesting. I'm going to check this place out. A lot can happen in 4 years but it won't kill me to look. Cheers. |

What group are you hiking with?
If you have a car there is a place north of GoYang on the highway up to Uijongbu that sells stuff. If transportation isn't an issue I can send you more specific info.

Sometimes, depending on the time of year or even month, there is a huge amount of army surplus stuff sold at Namdaemun market between the Orange BYC building and the purple one next to it. Not always, keep checking. You can buy compasses, watches, binoculors, jackets, sweaters, etc. Even saw instant army ration meals there before. |

Look around the military bases. They're definitely around those areas. |

The only place I've seen Korean military surplus backpack/duffle bags has been in Canada. They're many times cheaper than other ones and super thin and light. |
