Sounds like a typical kindy / elementary hagwon.
It may not be as bad as it sounds. They usually have a couple hours free after lunch before the elementary kids get out of school and head for hagwon.
Just be careful that it is 30 classes per week and not 30 hours... 30 hours can be as much as 45 or 50 short classes (far too much prep work even for a kindy). ASK how many classes, not how many hours.

Hmm, well when I asked how many classes, I got the response "6 hours". I also asked for the e-mail of any of the current foreign teachers (to try and find out what the place was like) but he only gave me the Principals e-mail. Think it could just be a misunderstanding or they are trying to avoid it. |

If that was from the recruiter then it is just a"stock answer" since all jobs are "6 hours per day".
Find the answer to the question, "How many classes?", take the job and stick it out for your year (knowing you are stuck with a choice of "stick it out" or be potentially unemployed till the contract term ends) with an eye to moving on to something better for your 2nd year.
Changing jobs mid-contract is problematic at best and never makes an easy option due to the logistics of it all.

| I have received two job offers, one with less hours and a 2 hour day on Thursday, but I will be the only English teacher, another with the previously stated hours but there are other teachers there. Both are in the same area and same wage so I am unsure which to pick so thought I'd ask here for peoples experiences/opinions. |
