| I reckon it depends on the class and the size, but I'm surprised you could get a class of middle school kids to be interested reading anything in English, no matter what it was. |
Middle school kids in middle school behave much differently from middle school kids in a hakwon, methinks...can't vouch with 20 examples or nothin', though.

Dagwood?!?!?! Sorry, but I don't think kids would dig that one, heh. |

For Middle School, try picking & choosing Calvin & Hobbes. There is a wonderful online archive; just do a search for it.
For adults, hard to go wrong with Doonsbury, esp. considering the current political current.

If your kids like "Captain Underpants," perhaps they'd also enjoy "The Day My Butt Went Psycho," another fine Scholastic title?

I'm going to Seoul this weekend and want to pick up some copies of Captain Underpants for a student. Someone said they have it and Bandis and Luni's in the COEX. Anyone seen it other places in Seoul (i.e. English Plus, Kyobo)?
If anyone knows of an internet site that I could direct some Korean parents to so they can buy it themselves, that would be great too. |

| I am still in the states and my fourth graders loved this series. I would use it as a read aloud, even though I do have a lit log to go with it. You have to read it very animated...but I always had fun doing it. Can't help much with whether or not this is good in Korea. If you want a look at the lit log pm me and I can email it to you |

Captain Underpants?
Buddy Bradley, Camel, Kiwiboy, come quick. Just found a funny word in the ESLCafe terminology lexicon. |
