I was asked about my religion by a 6th grader only a few weeks ago. I told her i was uncomfortable talking about my personal beliefs with students(im not religious at all by the way) . She didnt understand so my co-teacher (who happens to be very christian) told the student in korean that in the west many people feel uncomfortable talking about such personal things (i speak some korean so i understood). The 6th grader was perfectly happy with that explanation.

I love arguing about religion with strangers, but not with people i work with (potentially a sensitive issue).

Other students asked me in the past. I told them i'm not permitted to talk about religious things in the classroom which was a nice way to avoid answering their question.

I am not religious, and I've worked at a Catholic school for three years, starting my fourth year soon. On the (rare) occasion someone broaches the subject, I say something like "I'm not really religious" and that suffices. No issues, no problems to date.
