I've been paying 36,300 for internet by the month (no contract) for the past 6 months or so. I'm about to renew, and I asked my co-teacher to check prices on a year long contract. She told me it would be 35,000 a month with SK. I know others aren't paying this much. What's the deal?

What do you pay for internet and through which company?

I'm paying around 33K for SK Broadband, no contract.

While I was shopping around an LG store quoted me 25K/month if I sign a contract.

18K with QOOK (SK brand). I'm on 100Mbit. Gbit is 33K.
Even 35K a month doesn't sound bad at all compared to anywhere else in the world.

Thanks for the info. 30-35K seems about the average.

Deja, 18K is about the price I've heard from some Koreans and a select few foreigners. Are you on a contract? I heard you can get it this low if you sign on for three years.

A bit overdue, but I was busy at the time Very Happy

I was on a yearly contract at the time.
I am sure of the price because the company paid all utility bills but charged them to me, so I had a complete idea of the costs.

I pay 19,000 for KT (FTTH). I wanted to try SK, i called KT to cancel. They offered me 5,000 discount if i just continue with them. That is why is is cheaper than the regular price i guess.

I pay nothing and have been doing so for years.
My desktop has built in wifi, so as the lap-top and there are 3-4 networks that I can connect to. 2 of them are some kind of public networks and others are private. Stable and plenty fast even for downloading big files. Up to 3Mb/sec actual download speed.

I have a SK TV and internet/wifi thing... 38-42k/month, or something like that. They just take it out of me every month. I've been too lazy to look into a better package, which I wish I had, since I lay around quite a bit, when I don't have a date, or on lazy days when I get off work at 1 pm or something like that. The four movie channels I get let me down consistently. I have 600 or so channels but it's 99% garbage. I just want western sports and decent movies. I don't want to buy a slingbox and don't know how that even works; isn't there some better option here for sports and movies? I'm tired of watching two max black player Korean basketball league garbage, and the joke that is Korean baseball.

I know this is about internet, but how about some information on some internet/TV packages? I could honestly see myself staying in Korea longer if they had half of the western TV I saw when I was in the Philippines/every country in SE Asia I've been to. I pay for 588 channels of ajosshis fishing, slope girls selling handbags, and half of the population of Korea crying. Is there any decent internet/TV package available here?

36 or 37k for the past 4 years with KT. I'm not sure what the speeds are, but I can stream slingplayer seamlessly, with channel changing not taking terribly long.
