Is there any chance for jobs that only go for a month or so?
I was thinking about the months of February, March, August and September.

Highly unlikely since the school year starts March 2 and 2nd term usually starts the last week of August.
If you are on an F-visa then it is a different story.
I doubt that anyone will jump through the hoops to sponsor a C4 or E2 for those periods.
