Does anybody know with FTA being passed will customs still charge a duty on a new computer from the states?
And if they do charge a custom fee, How much is it?
Thanks |

I believe it's 17-18% for items over $200 |

Anything over 150,000 won is charged a customs duty for entering the country. That 150k INCLUDES the shipping fee. And it's 150k won, not $150.
As far as WHAT the rate is, go to the Korean Customs Service website and find out. It varies for different products.
The KORUS and KOREU and KORWhataever FTA's only drop the tariffs, the taxes imposed on goods that are simply there for being foreign. They do NOT remove the standard taxes one must pay, which is what you pay when you get stuff shipped here. |

Duty isn't everything. In my experience, they'll add the VAT and various handling fees so that it rounds out to 20%, no matter what the stated duty is. |
