I am currently working at a public school. My contract ends after the first week of May, and from there I will be moving on to a summer job - end of May until end of August.
The company said I can attempt to get my current visa transferred to the new job, that way I won't have to get a new FBI check, etc. etc.
However, my current job (of course) will pay me airfare if I leave and come back to Korea, right? And my new job is willing to pay me airfare roundtrip, as well.
So financially it makes more sense to catch a flight out of the ROK and chill out for a couple weeks, and then come back in as a new visa/new worker, right?
Well, here's my question --
1. Will my current employer (the government) wish to not pay me for the airfare if they discover I am simply getting a new job in Korea, regardless of the couple week gap?
2. If not, would my employer (the government) be willing to pay me for airfare even if I switch my visa, as long as I leave the country?
3. I assume my current employer will not care either way - well, they might care, but it's in the contract that they will reimburse me for airfare. It never states that it's based on getting a new visa. They also say they will reimburse all visa costs, so hey. And yes, they are a reputable company.
4. Finally, should I get a new visa in order to get my pension refunded immediately? I assume if I leave properly and come back as a new E2, I can get my pension as I leave...otherwise, I wouldn't until the end of August. Correct?
any other miscellaneous advice appreciated. |

When does your ARC expire? You could fly home and transfer your visa when you return to Korea as long as your ARC is still valid at that time. |
