"Of the 347 participants, 55.3 percent, 192 nurses said they were sexually assaulted within two years. The problem has long ailed the nurses. Of the nurses who have worked less than five years, 42 percent of them said so; those who have worked five to ten years, 70 percent; those who have worked more than ten years, 68 percent said so....
"Doctors constituted the most assailants followed by patients, patients' guardians, and hospital workers. Most of the assaulted didn't take action. Only 43 percent of them exhibited the repulse against the attackers."

It sounds like doctors can't be trusted around women anymore than cab drivers here. |

i went to 2 doctors last month. one said i didnt need antibiotics as i had bronchitis. the other said i had a bacterial infection and needed antibiotics?
neither of them asked about my medical history or if i had an allergy to antibiotics.
The problem is, most doctors think theyre god and most people go along with that. Because people dont know about medicine and they dont have confidence to make a biological observation about their own body, when they visit an arrogant, overbearing doctor, they immediately assume the doctor couldnt possibly be wrong. It doesnt occur to most people to go and seek a second or maybe third opinion before mindlessly swallowing the bag of drugs they give to anyone.
And doctors know they have this power ( hence them abusing it). They are mostly delusional.
Another thing people seem to overlook, is that doctors are usually trained in GENERAL MEDICINE. Which means they have training in lots of areas. THEY ARE NOT SPECIALISTS. But doctors in KOREA dont seem to realise that.
If you have a problem with your foot, go see your general doctor and he can make a REFERRAL to a FOOT SPECIALIST.
Its a mess!!
doctors playing doctors indeed... |

I remember our principle used to sexually harass the women on our work nights out. We would go to a noraebang and at some point the party would split into two. I was sent into another room and it seemed like a female stampede to join me. I thought I must have had my mojo working, but it turned out the women just wanted to get away from the principle.
When working at that school I also found a used condom in a locked conference room.
Related to shitty doctors - I recall the fat westerner doctor at Severance hospital claimed, in an interview, that Koreans were better at surgery because they used chopsticks. That guy is such a quack I wouldn't trust him with a homeless man's hemorrhoid ridden arse. |

I doubt most, but some who are high up or knowledgeable in a field are arrogant. It occurs with professors too. Some are know-it-all types and the students are like lower forms of life to them. It's grotesque. Maybe we've all had at least one prof who gave off that vibe. It is an unfortunate result of worshiping knowledge, I suppose. There is not enough questioning of authority, and that's a really dangerous thing.

Korean doctors are quacks. Seriously, they don't know what they're doing half the time. I've witnessed it time and time again. Examples include what someone said above about not checking your personal medical history to see if you have allergies, prescribing the wrong medication for a specific illness and the quickness to say everything is ok without delving deeper into your problem and taking appropriate steps to make you better. |

We called them the head master. I used principal so the Americans wouldn't get confused. |

My wife's doctor told her not to eat chicken while taking the antibiotics she was given, we didn't go back there again.
I think if you go to one of those corner clinics, you're asking for trouble. Spend the money and go to a university hospital if you can. |

My female friend told me the doctors are always giving her the shot in the butt everytime she goes.
I have never even been asked to get one when I go.
Pretty much every female I know who has went to the doctor has gotten a shot in the butt. Is there some kind of correlation with this?
She even told me the doctor smacked her butt a few times. LOL!!
Can any females here confirm this as well?
do you get asked for a shot everytime you go to the doc? |

Smacked her butt? Is there a medical reason for that?
I had a male coworker who had to get a shot a few times here. An attractive nurse motioned for him to pull down his pants. He did it without hesitation. Afterwards, he was worried that he had appeared too eager. The next time she gave him a shot he made sure to pause a bit and then slowly pull them down. |

i think the slap is supposed to reduce the pain of an injection; however, if your doctor is slapping your ass while saying 'who's your daddy?" then you've got to find a new doctor. |

Nurses in the Itaewon International clinic (the older one above 7 Eleven and across from Goldfish bar -- not Dr. Kim) will slap your butt when they give you a shot. Problem is, they are like 50 years old.
2nd opinions are very important to get here. |

smacking peoples arse doesn't do anything other than give some kind of perverse pleasure. There were outdated theories that doing that increased drug circulation, ive yet to read that in a medical journal though. I've given plenty of injections and I'm pretty sure if id done that, id have been sacked on the spot and probably branded. You can even kill someone by hitting/smacking a vein or artery to bring it up.
maybe the doctor thought she deserved it for getting sick? i smack my gf every time she gets sick for not being diligent enough. |
