| Depends on which friend, some would do OK some would definately hate it. And if it was a good friend I'd insist that they let me check out the school before the got here, too many bad schools out there and its very hard to tell which are which when you're not in the country. |

So, would you recommend working in a country with the worst labor relations (out of 60 countries)? Please remember to give your friend the some objective information.
Labor conflict and low-quality college education is dragging Korea's national competitiveness to a level below that of Asian competitors such as China, Taiwan and Malaysia. South Korea's labor relations ranked at the bottom of the total 60 nations; quality of college education ranked 59th.

I have and do recommend Korea to those looking for adventure and experience, not just to make money. A person can learn a lot from being placed in an unfamiliar stiuation/ culture if they don't become bitter if they have bad luck. There's so much you can do to research your future situation and a lot boils down to luck.

I suppose I could say going to Korea was sort of recommended to me by a friend, who is now in Hong Kong.
She told me the good and the bad, and when I said I really do need to pay off student loans, she said Korea was the place.
I've lived overseas before, granted in Scotland so the language was the same (mostly) and the culture, while quite different, wasn't shockingly different.
A year isn't that long is my take on it, even if I find I don't much like Korea. I'm starting to get quite excited actually, though I won't be across until the end of August. |
