Can you use more than one recruiter for GEPIK? I know in EPIK they will drop you if you use more than one.

Officially no.

But, I have found that you should or are forced to do so. One recruiter may not be able to find you a job whereas another can.

It is a racket. And not an honest one really. I have found they desire honesty from you but little honesty or integrity is returned to the teacher.

Since you cannot be jailed for using 2 recruiters - do what you have to do to land a job. Once you sign a contract halt all relations with other recruiters and stay with the 1 that landed you the job.

They work on commission.

Should I withdraw my application with Teach Away? I mistakenly believed I was applying to EPIK when I applied because someone sent me the wrong link. Teach Away is trying to get me to interview with Avalon, but it seems they also work with EPIK. I'm planning to apply with Korvia because I'd rather avoid working for a hagwon if possible.

Actually, I had a GEPIK contract that said you COULDN'T use multiple recruiters.

I did last year and it wasn't a problem.

I was working with multiple recruiters this year for GEPIK and hagwons. It hasn't been a problem.

I've used multiple recruiters to apply for GEPIK jobs the last two years. I received multiple job offers in both cases. My impression is that you might only have issues if you somehow send in two application forms to GEPIK, which is unlikely because you typically only get to that stage (in my experience) once you accept a job offer.

Is it all right to apply directly to EPIK or GEPIK as well as a recruiter?

No, EPIK (and GEPIK) drop you if they receive more than one application from you. As long as you don't (or your recruiters collectively don't) submit more than one application, then you're fine.

That said, I've only ever used one recruiter at a time, but to each their own.

That would result in them receiving more than one application from you, so no.

Also, you can't apply to GEPIK directly. You can use recruiters or possibly apply directly to GEPIK schools.

You applying for the fall? Not sure what the application timeline is like for that, but you can certainly change recruiters. I trust your recruiter hasn't actually submitted your application to EPIK, right? Seems like it would be early for that.

You may be able to get your documents back or transferred to another recruiter (though, not sure they would. as that wouldn't be in their interest).

If you have another set of documents, just contact Korvia. You can let Teach Away know that you've decided to work with someone else, if you want (I would). Or you can ignore them and they will likely forget about you anyway.
