I would appreciate hearing from anyone in Pocheon. I might have a new job in that area. Most important to me is air quality. (I'm getting so tired of the pollution in this country.) Also, how long does it take to get to central Seoul from there?
Thank you kindly for any information.

I taught at an elementary school northeast of Pocheon from 2009-2010. There was an express bus that ran from there to Dong-Seoul Terminal in about 1 hour. However, it stopped running fairly early with the last bus leaving around 8 or 9pm.
There are also local buses in Pocheon (for example, the 138-5) that will take you to Uijeongbu Station on line 1 of the Seoul subway. This is a far slower option than the express bus (2-3 hours to central Seoul) but it runs later at night.
The air pollution tended to be on par with or a bit worse than Seoul. If you haven't already done so, take a look at the government site that tracks air quality in Korea. Here's the link:

My overall impression of Pocheon was mixed. If you're primarily concerned with quick access to central Seoul and air quality, I'm not sure I could recommend moving there. |

You still around?
I've been all around Korea. Only place you'll find clean air is KangwonDo and above 400m altitude. The rest are pea-soup.
Pocheun is neither. |

Pocheon has a furniture selling complex that is supposed to be cheap, but I didn't find it so the last time I went there.
Try the fresh water there, it's really good. |

Smithington I lived in Pocheon from june 2010 to may 2011. It's old and filthy like most towns in Korea. The air quality is better than Seoul or Uijeongbu. Certain times of of year it smells like fertilizer/poo. There's not much to do and I lived in Pocheon City. Good luck! |
