| I have been trying for the last few days to use HiKorea to apply for an extension of my visa. I am staying with the same company, so this seems like the most efficient route. However, for some reason I cannot use the e-applications. In my account there is a button that says "Switch Status to Registered Foreigner" but I can't click it. Has anyone had this issue and how did you solve it? Any help is appreciated. |

If you mean an extension of your E2 for the purposes of working then you need to physically go in to an immigration office.
You need:
ARC
passport
new contract
guarantee (sponsorship form)
copy of employer's business registration
application form
fees.
If you mean just extend an E2 for 30 days and NOT working, then use Internet Explorer and e-mail your documents (ARC, passport, exit ticket).

According to their website they are currently updating so you can expect even more errors than usual.
The English website says it will be finished January 31st, 2012. The Korean version says January 31st 2013.
Please understand their situation and be patient. |

For the supposedly most wired nation on Earth replete with ubiquitous computer nerds Korean websites have a staggering number of unintentional flaws....broken links, error messages etc.
And don't even get me started on the *intentional* flaws. Floaty ads that follow you from page to page, 5 pop up ads that appear with every click, flashing crap. Looks like someone vomited on the page. That trashy rag The Korea Times is the pinnacle of the whole thing with pictures of zits being squeezed, diseased nipples and yellow toenails on every page. Truly hideous. |
