The problem was that you were being honest.
Should have just lied and said you like Korean girls but haven't found one yet.
The key to good relationships is lying. |

"What do you think of Korea women?" Is such a loaded question.
I guess the best answer is that you believe they are the most beautiful women in the world but your girlfriend is white.
Seriously though the only other time I've heard this being an issue is with foreign women here. I've heard a surprising number of foreign gals simply state that they don't find Korean men attractive. I don't know how anyone can simply right off an entire ethnic group as not attractive. To each their own of course. |

Yeah, because god forbid we burst the bubble and admit that mixed race kids have a hard time growing up/finding their identity. |
Do you have any actual data to support this claim?
What 'identity' have you found that you think a biracial child is incapable of finding? |

Whilst I do agree about having our own preferences in partners, I dont agree with your comment about children of mixed ethnicities. I am probably about an 8th generation colonist in New Zealand with Scottish, Irish, and a small handful of other ethnic backgrounds.
Like Lady Gaga says:
"I'm beautiful in my way,
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track, baby
I was born this way"
People have the right to identify with whatever ethnic background they choose and many people from multi-cultural backgrounds choose to identify with both/all. Many of us are licorice allsorts lol |

If you raising them in a mono-ethnic country I'd agree, but if you raise them in a multi-ethnic country I don't think it is such an issue.

I would say that over 90% of Korean guys in the US date pretty much exclusively Korean women... |
Are you sure that is by choice? This thread is about choice.

I don't see racism in the choice, but maybe you shouldn't say it, or say negative things about Korean women to keep off of touchy subjects. |

Basically long story short, I told him that I am only attracted to white girls, and that while many Korean women are attractive, I have no interest in them at all due to the way they act, the boring convos etc - basically just said our cultures are too different and that I, as an ugly fellow, rely on my personality more than the color of my skin to 'get' girls. |
Can't believe I'm saying this, but...
All Korean girls have boring conversations? All Korean girls act a certain way? All foreign men who have Korean girlfriends got them thanks entirely to their white skin? Seriously? And then you're like, how is that racist? How is it racist to say they're all idiots? How many of them have you talked with? Have you attempted to converse with them in their own language, rather than a second language that for most of them is extraordinarily difficult to learn? Are you capable of translating this sentence into Korean on your own?

The (short-sighted) idea of purity of blood is what subtracts from people's identities. All of us are mixed, and none of us are pure; to 99% of the people who see me, I'm white, but the idea itself is a social construct, just as easily created as destroyed, and I don't really consider myself to be white, since half of my ancestors are Jews.

It's utterly ridiculous; saying that I don't like black American culture for instance does not mean that I am racist. |
Yes it does, because you (implicitly) assume that "black American culture" is some kind of simplistic monolith consisting of blinged-out rappers and baggy pants. That's what you see on TV, but you're mistaking a representation for reality, and then using that representation to dismiss millions of individual human beings. Yep. That's racist. |

Having a preference for white girls doesn't make you racist but the OP sounds like a huge racist. I'm just saying he is probably a racist. |

Yes agree with all this. There's no problem saying you're not attracted to skinny girls with sraight dark hair for example but if you sart saying all Korean girls act in a certain way it becomes dodgy. I don't get the mixed race identity problem thing at all. Most Americans I meet are proud to say they're a mix of Irish/Italian/Native American/Greek backgrounds etc...It seems to be par for the course |

Personally, I have a "type" that I'm attracted to - medium height, tan, dark hair, fit. But when I apply that to ethnicities, it's pretty broad. A good portion of humanity would fit in that zone. lol
As to the OP, I get why he might not want to date a Korean. Language and culture are huge obstacles for some. But that being said... how does that apply to non-Whites from back home? This is where he loses me. And this is where it starts to sound like "I'm only going to date my own race."
The thing about multi/mixed kids, I don't want to touch right now. As the proud parent of one, the ignorance displayed by some here astounds me. |

I hate to generalize, but I wouldnt date a mixed girl again.
Lets just say I havent met a mixed girl who was totally all there. granted Ive only dealt with mainly black/white, mexican/black, Asian/White.
But man, let me tell ya. I cant speak for males, but for females, It seems they are emotionally unstable. So I usually date them for a short time. Nothing serious. My friend married one and she ran away during the night.
Its ignorant to say all mixed girls have issues, because most females in general have issues. But gee whiz, it just seems like mixed chicks have all kinds of crazy going on in their heads. |

You could always say you go for money and not ethnicity...that certainly can send things in another direction. |

What I'm reading is that you have a type, and that type is crazy mixed girls. Maybe you should broaden your horizons to include sane mixed girls. |

my theory is that most of the foreign women here tend to be larger in size and personality, two things that don't mesh with with most korean men. as well, korean men tend to be smaller and dominating, two things that don't mesh well with most foreign women. thusly the disparities lead to people being "unattracted" to each other.
as for why korean women tend to be popular with foreign men, it is pretty much because they are opposite of my description of foreign women.
at least in my eyes, when you boil it down to the absolute simplest way to describe it, it paints a pretty clear picture. |
