I pre-paid the US embassy for my US passport to be delivered to my home. It came, and the guy demanded another 6,000 won. It even says "Pre-paid" on the envelope.

Is there something I'm missing here? Anyone go through this and have to pay twice? I've sent an e-mail to the embassy, and will try to call them on Monday, but it'll probably be a while before I hear from them.

I went to the embassy and paid in-person. I had a scheduled meeting.

I already have my passport because the guy left, then came back wanting money again. I guess I'll have to find out on Monday.

I tried calling the delivery company, but no answer.

If the US Embassy confirms I need to pay something again (which makes no sense) then I'll pay.

Yeah, I prepaid for my daughter's passport and they also requested 6,000 when they delivered. I'm not sure why, I was just so tired that I paid the man so he would go away.

Renewed my oldest daughter's passport a few weeks ago, and the lady at the embassy clearly stated there would be a 6000won delivery charge paid upon delivery of the passport to my door.

I seem to remember being given a choice but could be wrong.

If someone offered me the choice of paying $6 or becoming so irritated I had to post a message on the internet, I'd just pay the $6.

Funny, since you didn't even have to become irritated to troll by posting this message.

I don't care. I'm not the guy wasting $40 worth of time trying to solve $6 worth of problem. (Yes, time equals money. You're writing emails, making phone calls, and venting on a message board.) I think a more productive activity might be to forget it and move on. It's $6. It's more than likely legit. And the time you've wasted (including the time here) you're never going to get back.

Your attitude doesn't match your time input.

Stay here long enough and maybe you will learn how to make enough money to enjoy the luxury of time..... that is, if you will have either, given your expensive counseling visits.

Very Happy

Same thing happened to me as well.
I'm positive I paid 6,000 won at the embassy.
Korean delivery man asked for 6,000 won. I just paid him again.
I called the embassy. Principal of the matter. Some rude
lady insisted I must not have paid at the embassy.
Didn't bother any further.
