They have to close two days per month, but it does not mandate that they close on Sundays. They can close any two days in the entire month.

This is not the first time that the mom and pops are making noise. Last year I think E-Mart or Homeplus started selling pizza and fried chicken for less than half the price you could buy it anywhere else. The people lined up for hours to buy this stuff. The mom and pop pizza and chicken restaurants complained and so E-Mart and Homeplus voluntarily stopped selling the pizza and chicken.

Emart still sells the chicken and pizza. No idea what you're talking about.

It was the chicken, not the pizza, that caused the big hullabaloo. And it was at Lottemart and the "voluntarily" stopped selling the chicken so cheaply.

I now see, after reading more of the thread, others have already posted this information.

Si I'll add that I agree regarding the friendliness of shop employees. Look away from the TV, make a little eye contact, answer a question with more than a grunt and you'll more than likely get my return business.

I never noticed the price of chiken in Korea until about a week ago (I could NEVER find fresh chicken breast so I gave up) - 15-20$/kg of fresh chicken ($15 being the chepeast, and $20 not always the most expensive - the cheapest being the breast???) is cheap????? 2 years ago, Australian beef ribs were half that price! Currently I can almost buy salmon for that price Sad
If that's cheap, no wonder people don't buy at double prices Smile
