|

The place I moved to was built in the early 90s and I'm guessing has not been renovated since that time. I have a rough idea of what replacing the floors and wallpaper will cost me, but I'd also like to have a new kitchen sink and cabinets installed. Has anyone ever done this in Korea and if so, how much did it cost you?

The cost will vary depending on what you want to put in the place. I can tell you that your neighbors will not be happy with all the noise the renovations will make. |

Just a sink and cabinets in the kitchen... and I don't care if the neighbors are unhappy |

MIL had the kitchen renovated a few months ago. The price depends on a number of variables but mainly on the length of the cabinets. She got quotes from local interior stores and from Hansem. The latter was only 10-20 percent more so she chose that. It was 3 or 3,5 meters I think included a 3 burner built-in style gas range the range hood thing and sink with tap. She paid around 2.5 million won. It also included the installation and getting rid of the old one. |

Thanks for the reply. Was this a full-size kitchen? |

Its in a 3 bedroom+living room 24 pyeong apartment so even though it wouldnt be considered full-size kitchen in Western countries I think it is here.
Again, the total length of it was perhaps 3 meters which is an entire wall of a good sized room. |

I couldn't say without knowing how big your apartment is, but you can spend as much as you want since wallpaper and flooring comes in all prices. Best advice I can give you is to shop around. |

Ok I obviously wasn't being clear enough in my last two posts.
I just want to know the prices people paid for
*****KITCHEN SINK AND CABINET REPLACEMENT*****
(so that I can get an idea of whether it's even worth looking into).
I am aware that this will be more than a 50,000 won job, that it will cause noise, that a variety of businesses offer this service... etc.
Thank you. |
