Hi everyone. I will be bringing my 15 pound dog from Philadelphia, USA to Korea.

Does anyone have personal experience of bringing their pet from USA to Korea, and thus could give me advice on good airlines for this? I've done some rudimentary research but am interested in personal experiences as far as airlines and pets from U.S. to Korea.

Not bringing my dog is not an option so I am not interested in that debate.

Stories relating to bringing pets to Korea, horror or good, are appreciated too.

Thank you!

I adopted a Maltese while teaching in Daegu and thinking about a return trip to Korea with her in a couple months. I flew on Korean Airlines and they charged me 250 USD for her riding with me in the cabin as she was able to fit under my seat but your size dog will have to go in a crate, so I don't if that will be more or not.

I would recommend them over any American based airlines. Coming from the east coast if you be good to get a non stop flight but that made not be an option. Lots of things to consider and hopefully others can add more detail as that's about all I know. Good luck.

abrcreed, I don't have enough posts to private message you and this is not related to your post, but I'm also coming very soon from Pennsylvania so if you'd like to exchange info or anything, private message me or email me [email protected].

I guess I'm in that final stage before departing where the nerves are hitting a little bit and I want to make sure I meet some people.

Hi. I brought birds from Korea, there was NO chance of me leaving them behind so I completely understand you. I brought two cockatiels. I wrote up ALL the info that I had to do to bring them here. A dog will be quite a bit simpler than what I had to do, but at least all the info is there of stuff you WILL have to do. http://ruralkorealiving.wordpress.com/
Just read back to my first few posts. There are two or three total posts on the subject.
And, if you need some questions answered, I might be able to answer them. Send me a pm or [email protected] if you need.
