Hi,

Small problem. My current E2 visa expires on the 31/03 and I am switching over to a F3 visa. I visited the immigration office with all docs and was told that my marriage cert needed to be apostilled, which isn't what they said over telephone. They went through with the process and I have until the 03/04/ to return with an apostilled marriage cert in order to complete the spouse visa process.

Here's the issue:: My certificate is being delivered from South Africa where they are currently undergoing a postal services strike and all mail is on standstill.

Are there any options except leaving and returning on a tourist visa, or a D10 temporary visa?

Thanks.

A D10 is a viable option (you can still change to F3 afterward or change back to E2 if you want). Changing to an F3 means that you need to start again if you want to go back to an E2.

Courier companies (FedEx, DHL, UPS, etc) are options during a postal strike; they are independent of the national postal service.
