Hi all. I have been approached by Times TESOL which are currently running Unigwons in Korea and I would be interested in some info anyone may have regarding this organisation. Here is an email I received from them:

Times Media will provide:
1) 2,500,000 Korean Won monthly salary plus upon completion of one year contract, additional one monthly salary of bonus will be given.
2) Housing allowance: 400,000Won/mo.
3) Health Insurance
4) Special Note: Students are all adults seeking English teachers job in the future, therefore, they are very enthusiastic in the class and teaching the class itself brings you an overwhelming satisfaction.
5) For the 2nd year contract, salary would be increased to 2.7 Mil. Won per month
6) 15days for annual paid holiday
7) MA holder in Education preferred.

2. Working Hours (Teaching plus Office Hours) 30hours teaching 10 hours office work.

The time schedule can be changed.

Working area:
Busan University in Busan. Yonsei University in Seoul.

For me the deal breaker is the number of hours and the potential split shifts which will leave me knackered at the end of the day. I am tempted to proceed with my EPIK application and move on. Does anyone have experience working with this organisation? What were they like? Are they reliable to work for? The application process seem professional but the hours ... god the hours.

I worked there, but only part time. What I heard from the full timers was that it was aweful. From what I saw, they have a lot of turn over at the management level and for me it did cause a few problems with organization, but since I was only there PT if didn't effect me much.

Is it teaching the TESOL program? If so then the hours are a little different from before. Used to be 9 to 5 Wed - Fri, and around 12 or 1pm until 10 Saturday, 9 or 10 am until 5 or 6 on Sundays. (Times depended on the program.)

Thanks all. The hours sound chaotic and I think I shall give this a pass. I didn't realise there was part-time hours. I don't know why I am stressing so much at securing reputable employment at this moment in time.
