There are lots of threads about transferring money from one's korean bank account to their bank account in their home country.

Does anyone know how to send money to their home bank account with cash instead of as a direct wire transfer? If you currently do not have a korean bank account, what is the best way to transfer cash to a home bank account?

is this a serious post?

your only option would be to toss it in a bag and fly it in a plane to your destination country...

if you are making money in korea without a korean bank account and you aren't dealing in custom craft goods in a stall on the streets of garosogil then you might have a legal problem headed your way in the future as well.

Western Union. I think most KB banks should have it.

Yes, this is a serious post.

If one is waiting for their ARC from an employer, and
has not yet established a bank account from which to receive payment, yet
has received 1 month of pay before establishing that bank account, and
wants to transfer some money into an overseas bank account as soon as possible in case of exchange rate fluctuations...
then what are that persons options, if any?

Western Union is a trusted business to use. But according to their services, is it correct that a person residing in the country where the money is being sent must sign for and collect the transfer?

Basically, I'm asking if you can give cash to a Western Union agent and deposit that cash into an overseas account without someone personally receiving it on the other end.

If not, then are there any other legitimate options?

Thanks

Fairly certain you can walk in to any bank with just your passport and wire money.

Yes, you can.
Go into any bank that has a foreign exchange desk and ask to do a sWIFT wire transfer to a bank back home.

You will need the swift number of the bank as well as$ the account name and number.

Depending on the intermediate bank the fees will usually run about 15-20k won in Korea, $5-20 from your home bank and $15-20 if there is an intermediary bank.

You do need your passport and they will place a stamp on the back page (small stamp with the dollar value indicated).
