Historically North Korea has almost always done some sort of violent incident with a new administration either up North or down South. In this time of rising tension, what do you think that move will be.
For the purposes of the poll, we'll eliminate different levels of saber-rattling, but doing nothing and just put it in a generic "Do nothing" answer.
I'm inclined to lean towards a small-scale strike, possibly the invasion and seizure of a small disputed island. |

I just don't think he can do anything of significance and beyond the fake machismo charade he has to put on to get "respect". I think if he tries to attack inside of SK, he's making a death wish. |

I figure another naval incident or small artillery engagement near the border.
Its about face now. He's gotta do something to pop the pimple. |

My vote is for maritime border incident during blue crab season. But, that's likely to happen independent of the current tensions. |

According to Kim Gwan-jin, the head of Ministry of National Defense.
김관진 "北, 후방 테러폭발암살 우려"(종합2보)
Quote: |
Kim Gwan-jin "The most probable form of North Korean attact would be domestic terrorism, sabotage by explosion, and assassinations. (김관진 국방장관은 4일 예상되는 북한의 도발 형태와 관련, "예단하기는 어렵지만 우려되는 것은 도발 주체가 불분명한 후방 테러, 폭발, 암살 등이 주종을 이루지 않겠느냐"고 말했다.) |
Even Kim Gwan-jin implied that it wouldn't be a full-scale war. |

What concerns me is this.
Mainly because setting up defensive measures in Alaska and Guam means the US is positioning itself a bit more aggressively in the Pacific. Doubt it means anything in the bigger picture in the immediate future but it might down the road.
Korean boss was saying yesterday that his concern was (more or less) a precision strike on Yongbyon by the US to nip things in the bud with that. I'm slowly becoming more and more inclined to think that may very well happen. |

One of his next moves was to make a video clip showing him shoot a gun while inspecting some old but nasty-looking weaponry in rough mountainous terrain ... http://news.yahoo.com/video/raw-nkorean-leader-kim-jong-100555917.html
(Yahoo's next move was to profit off these tough-guy Kim propaganda videos by running a lot of advertising...) |
