Seeing as how they are producing nuclear weapons, the sooner they (NK) are hit heavy and hard, the better. Waiting to strike them will only allow them to build their stock piles further. |
The North's nukes are a deterrent from what they perceive as US aggression, nothing more. |
FTFY.
Countries are starting to realize that the chances of them being invaded or taken over decrease drastically when they have a nuclear weapon. It's the ultimate deterrent. |

Good. Maybe all the newbs will run home, and fewer teachers will be willing to come here. The schools will be begging for teachers and our conditions will improve. For too long now the market has been saturated and wages have declined. I think a little nuclear conflagration might just be the thing I've been waiting for.
Bring it on. |

The newbs are mostly young Americans who may be drafted in to the army if there is a war.
They will get that helicopter ride they wanted out of the area but it won't be going south. |

There wasn't a draft for Iraq; there won't be a draft for any conflict with NK. Besides, SK has plenty of soldiers. |

Truthfully nobody is getting a helicopter ride anywhere. If it breaks out you're all on your own. |

There will be such panic that you've never imagined.
What can you do?
Report to the nearest US military post with your passport and 1-2 bags. Or you can hole up in your apartment until your hagwon master comes to turn you over to his new friends from the North. |

Wylies! Are you still in Korea? So's my kid, he's been back there for three years now. Hey, you guys made it thru the tsunami and nucklear powerplant breakdown. Some tough talk from lil man Un isn't anything much to worry about.
Actually, this is the original helicopter mom and I'm worried as hell! Mutually assured destruction doesn't sound like any fun at all. But that is funny as hell about everyone on their own and waiting for the boss to turn you in.

North Korea rhetoric wreaks havoc on Seoul markets
Quote: |
"The KOSPI is headed for its worst weekly performance in 10 months as the geopolitical tension between North and South Korea remains high," wrote Deutsche Bank analyst Jim Reid, in a report to investors. |
Quote: |
The KOSPI plunged nearly 4% this week as the North Korean military moved missile launchers to the coast, the South Korean military deployed Aegis destroyers for radar surveillance, and the U.S. military staged a flyover of B-2 stealth bombers.
Exchange-traded funds of South Korean stocks have been pulled down by the anxiety of potential war. The iShares MSCI South Korea Capped Index Fund plunged 7% this week, and the Korea Fund dropped 4%. |

Sure, to a degree, but the Korean economy hasn't exactly been on fire. Then there's the weak yen. And Vanguard changed indexes for its emerging market fund and Korea is no longer in it, so they've been selling SK stocks. |

Top story on the BBC today (top of their website and #1 most read story):
North Korea tension 'prompts US missile test delay'
Quote: |
The US Pentagon has delayed an intercontinental ballistic missile test scheduled for next week, defence officials say.
The Minuteman 3 test was put off because of concerns that it could be misinterpreted by North Korea, amid fears of a conflict.
It could be postponed till May.
North Korea has issued a series of unusually strong threats since it was sanctioned by the UN in March for carrying out a third nuclear test.
It has threatened nuclear strikes on the US, formally declared war on the South, and pledged to reopen a nuclear reactor in defiance of UN Security Council resolutions.
A Pentagon official said the US wanted to "avoid any misperception or miscalculation" that might result from the test. |

The North Koreans are now using the propaganda in an extreme form to try to damage foreign direct investments into South Korea, said Thomas L. Coyner, a member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Korea and the author of Doing Business in Korea. They are, in a sense at this point, winning in an asymmetrical psychological warfare, attacking the economic strength of South Korea. |
