Hello all... it's been a few years since my last stint in Korea, and I'm feeling the pull to go back. I was in Gwangju last time, and quite liked it.

Worth it? Not worth it?

I've also gotten my hairdressing license since I've been home, and thought with all the shitty haircuts we get in Korea, I could put this skill to use.

Advice? Thoughts?

Koreans need a license to cut hair, and pretty sure your license wouldn't be transferable. How hard is it to get one? No idea. Under the table? Yea, sure.

And, now's prob a good time to come back. Will surely be a few vacancies because of the North and you should have your pick of a few good jobs.

I'm 5'10 and have white blond hair, would that go over in a barber shop?

I was thinking more of teaching, and then doing hair kind of for fun, since we all know what a pain it is to get a decent haircut in Korea. I'm still traumatized from my last one.

I'm planning on working in Busan, and I know there's a good foreigner community there, so I hope I can utilize the teaching and the stylist background I somehow ended up with.

I only let people with black hair, who are over 5'11 cut my hair.

We could maybe reach a compromise if you agree to wear a black wig and wear high heels?

I usually have streaks in my hair, how much would you charge to do that + a quick cut and blow?

It sounds reasonable to me. I'd sure like to get a better haircut than the ones I get here.
