|
|
I have recently started an MA from Birmingham Uni and I'm having difficulty sourcing books. If anyone has some of the books I have mentioned below, and are willing to sell, please contact me. Also, if anyone has any suggestions of other ways to find these books, I'd be very grateful.
Reading List
1. Aitchison, J. (2012) Words in the Mind. (4th edition) Oxford:
Blackwell.
2. Carter, R. and McCarthy, M. (eds.) (1988) Vocabulary and -
Language Teaching. Harlow: Longman. 181-200.
3. Littlemore, J. and Low. (2006) G Figurative Thinking and
Foreign Language Learning. Palgrave Macmillan :
Basingstoke.
4. Schmitt, N. and McCarthy, M. (eds.) (1997) Vocabulary:
Description, Acquisition, and Pedagogy. Cambridge: CUP.
5. Montgomery, M. (2008, 3rd ed.) An Introduction to Language
and Society. London: Routledge.
6. Holmes, J. (2008, 3rd ed.) An Introduction to Sociolinguistics.
London: Longman.
7. Wardhaugh, R. (2010, 6th ed.) An Introduction to
Sociolinguistics. Oxford: Blackwell.
8. McCarthy, M. J. (1990) Vocabulary. Oxford University Press.

Before ordering books from abroad and paying for shipping (in additional to the higher prices that are often charged), check out naver. By searching for the titles and authors on this site, you'll be able to find the lowest three prices/sites for the books you're looking to buy here in Korea. These are often MUCH lower than the prices of books back in the UK or in North America, and you also save on shipping, not to mention that the books are often delivered the next day. I did this for my master's studies, and continue to do so for my doctorate, and I must have saved at least a million won or so by now. Take a look!

I used a Korean site last week and it was pretty good. I found two of the books on yes24.com, and they were much cheaper than the prices quoted from UK delivery sites. I will try a naver search and see what else comes up. |
